SPONSORSHIP AND DONATIONS
There are several ways in which you could help us in our endeavor to raise funds in for our Veterans on Long Island and the Veteran Assistance Organizations we are honoring this year by highlighting showcasing their accomplishments, raising awareness of their needs and the needs of the Veterans they serve and making donations to their causes.Let us introduce you to our Honoree Organizations for 2016:
Nassau County Veterans Services Agency sponsors and organizes two Stand Downs yearly, providing opportunities for Veterans to access, Dental, VA Benefits Counseling, Support Services, Health Screening, Legal Advice, Haircuts Clothing and many representatives of our Federal, State and Local agencies. The event is held at the American Legion Post in Hempstead, but it is financed through donations, not government funds. Mr. Esposito and his Counsellors must raise the funds and get the services donated from the vendors in order for the event to take place. The Agency also provides a wide variety of volunteer-supported services by Veterans for Veterans, including driving Veterans to and from VA doctor appointments and recently began Vet-Mart-a food bank specifically for the Veterans who need help with food and personal items. We are proud to be Honoring Mr. Esposito and the NC Veterans Services Agency for their great works, as well as being able to present them with a financial donation to support these events.
Women in the Military is a relatively new organization founded and headed by Sylinthia Burges, also a counsellor of Veterans at the Nassau County Veterans Services Agency, as well as the Advisor to the Veterans Club at Nassau Community College. The Mission of Women in the Military is to provide the unique opportunities and resources required for Women who are currently serving and veterans as they assimilate back to civilian life after their experiences as members of the United States Military. The Organization accomplishes their goals with a four-prong program which emphasizes peer to peer interaction, introduction to Resources for their health, nutrition and child care needs, connections to skills training and education for jobs opportunities and encouragement to give back through service to other Veterans as well as the communities in which they live. Congratulations to Ms. Burges for the success of this new Organization, which addresses the very special circumstances incurred by Women in the Military.
Voices for Veterans has set up a Scholarship Fund at Nassau Community College for Veterans and their dependents that are not covered under the post-9/11 GI Bill. Our first recipient was Mr. Roosevelt Mooring, who is continues to pursue his education in the Health Services Field, as well as being the current President of the Nassau Community College Veterans Club. We continue to support the Scholarship Fund through direct donations, donations to our events, and sale of our Organizational T-Shirts.
Now that you know who we are honoring and supporting, these are the ways in which you could help us help them.
All SPONSORSHIP in the Metal categories, should you be so generous, will afford you, your organization or corporation certain Reward Packages. We want you to know how appreciative we are for your support of our event and our Honorees.
For each Sponsor in the Metal Categories below will be included in a Poster on display at the event, thanking them for their donation, as well as at future events we have during the following year. We will also post our appreciation on our Donor/Sponsorship page on our Website for one year. In addition,
